Hello from…
October 11, 2009
Minneapolis! Enjoying a day off here after two killer sold out shows this weekend. Last night was here in Minneapolis, and Friday was in Chicago at the infamous House Of Blues. If you haven’t seen our show yet, check the schedule and come on out! It’s a great show that you don’t want to miss. I snapped a few photos during soundcheck in Chicago and I’ll leave you with those. Adios for now!

Fenway and Hendrix
September 27, 2009
This first week on the road has been pretty killer. The shows have been great and amidst the business we’ve found time to call in a few favors and do some pretty cool stuff.
On Wednesday in Boston we had a friend give us a private tour of Fenway Park. Growing up a Red Sox fan, and really just a baseball fan in general, it was a pretty surreal experience. Went all around the warning track, up to the infamous red seat in right field, sat on the Green Monster and finally, spent a little time in the home dugout. It was really incredible.

Thursday night was a day off in Philadelphia, and our friends MuteMath were in town. If you’re a fan of them and haven’t yet seen their live show, you really need to add it to the to-do list. They’re great performers, and the production on this current tour is really rad. Its a show that certainly won’t disappoint.

Finally, today starts our first of four days in New York City. We spent all day today in Greenwich Village at Jimi Hendrix’s studio, the Electric Lady, working on an exclusive iTunes EP. Hendrix died only two weeks after the studio was completed, and recorded his last 30 songs in the room that we’re working out of today. Its been a really cool day, and being able to spend time in such a historic musical location is a real treat.

Thats all for now, more to come soon!
The Calm Before The Storm…
September 14, 2009
I’m currently enjoying one last week at home in Nashville before I leave until almost Thanksgiving. Part of that enjoyment is sitting at my favorite patronage in town, Crema Coffee. I’m here probably every day that I’m home, and sometimes twice a day. Its just that good. I don’t any more complete stories to offer, so I think I’ll leave you with an array of completely random thoughts. Annnd….go!
- Yesterday I got home from South Dakota, where I had time to go see Mount Rushmore before the show. I thought it was going to be anti-climatic, and it kinda was, but it was pretty cool nonetheless.

- I’ve had a lot of coffee today.
- I’m currently listening to a rock record that was released in 2004, and has been in my iTunes since then without me realizing it. Blindside - About A Burning Fire. Its rockin’.
- I haven’t quite figured out how to pack for 2 months. Buy a lot of clothes and don’t do laundry? Or just buy a lot of clothes and still need to do laundry? Most likely the latter.
- I think I’m going to go to Stockholm in December. Maybe not though…hmm. Anyone want to go with?
- Seeing as I’ll be in pretty much every major city in North America this fall, I’ll be posting pictures daily over on my Twitter, so follow along for a look into my life on the road!
Thats all for now. Later!

‘Cause They’re Never At Home…
August 16, 2009
“Mamas, don’t let your babies grow up to be cowboys,
Don’t let ‘em pick guitars or drive big ole’ trucks,
Let ‘em be doctors and lawyers and such,
Mamas don’t let your babies grow up to be cowboys,
‘Cause they’re never at home and they’re always alone,
Even with someone they love.”
- Willie Nelson
Interview Posted!
August 5, 2009
Howdy folks.
Wanted to let y’all know that the interview I did a few months back for the rad dudes over at The Art Of Manliness is now up! I answered 10 or so questions about the ins and outs of touring and working on guitars for a living. Brett asked me some great questions, and I really enjoyed answering them.
You can check out the full article here.
I’m currently wrapping up a few days back home in Florida. Its been a great time spent relaxing with the family, and its the first time I’ve been back down here since Christmas, so a visit was long overdue. Tomorrow though I hop on a plane back to Nashville, and then from there I go straight to the bus to start a long drive to Minnesota and then Ohio for some shows. It should be a great weekend.
It’s hard for me to believe it’s already August…2009 has been a total blur. A good blur though. Hope everyone is enjoying their last month of summer. Later!
My Monthly Update.
July 6, 2009
So once again it’s been well over a month since I’ve posted anything at all on here. I’m not even going to apologize, because it’s bound to happen again and I’m sure I’ll apologize then too.
It’s safe to say I’ve almost stopped blogging all together, and I really don’t know why. I’m super busy, so I’ll just blame it on that. I’m in Nashville 3 days a week or less pretty much all summer long, which I am very thankful for. But the rest of that time I’m all over the US of A, and I’m equally thankful for that. I’m having a blast.
I’m never not thankful for what I get to do for a living, but every now and then I get smacked with reality and it hits me just how fortunate I am. I live on a tour bus, play music, and wake up in a different city every day. That’s not work my friends, that is a party. My life is a party.
I’ll leave ya with a few photos from the last couple weeks. Later on!

Travelin’ man and the NBA Playoffs.
June 2, 2009
Yet again, it’s been a few weeks since I’ve been around these parts. And like usual I am sorry, and I mean it.
I’ve been in and out of the country, and all over the States over the last week or two. A definite highlight of those shows/trips was having a day off in Denver last Friday and going to Game 6 of the NBA Western Conference Finals. I’m usually more of a college basketball fan than I am of the NBA, but lets be honest…I scored a seat to watch Kobe play in his prime, in a huge game. Needless to say, it was well worth it.

I’m back in Nashville now for a few days, and it feels great to be home. My family is coming up for a bit this week before we head back out for some more shows, and that will be quite refreshing indeed.
Hope y’all are enjoying the Summer time!
Where In The World Have I Been?
April 30, 2009
Thats a pretty good question. I’ve got a half decent answer; all. over. the. place. Instead of typing a bunch of stories and questions just so I can answer them, I’ll just take the photo-journalistic approach to cover the last week of my life.
Ready, set, go.
I went an hung out with my dear friends NeedToBreathe at the photoshoot for their new record.
Next was a 5AM airport call to head off for a few shows. That included checking 40 bags for 14 people..yikes.
After a show in Raleigh, we flew 2,800 miles across the country for a quick show north of Sacramento..and of course that meant flying over the beautiful Rocky Mountains.
After rocking Nor-Cal, I fell asleep on the bus in the Redwood Forest and woke up in sunny Southern California for a busy, but great afternoon in front of 50,000 people.
After a little post-show hang time, I hopped back on the bus and woke up at the Phoenix airport ready to make my 1,700 mile trek home.
There ya go…7,000 miles in 4 days. Am I tired? Not really…Midnight bus call tonight to do it all over again. Thank you and goodnight.
Think Tank
April 13, 2009
I’ve got some ideas. Some big, some small…but none the less I’ve got them. I’m trying to put them together. You’ll be seeing their fruits hopefully sooner than later.
In other news, I officially have a schedule for the year and for that I am very thankful. I’m excited. I feel very fortunate to be able to do what I love for a living, especially in the midst of an economic hardship. My job doesn’t feel the slightest bit like work to me, and that is an interesting feeling.
By interesting of course I mean freaking awesome. Good day.
